WA Super awarded 5 stars for outstanding membership investment options
WA Super has received the highest Heron Partnership Quality 5 Star Ratings for its outstanding Superannuation Product and five stars for its MySuper product.
The Heron Partnership's superannuation fund rating covers industry funds, master trusts and multi-employer funds, categorised as either personal or corporate superannuation funds, as well as pension products. The 2018/19 assessment covered 133 superannuation products and 78 pension products.
WA Super Chief Executive Officer Fabian Ross said WA Super had been awarded 5 stars for its My WA Super product, with the Heron Partnership impressed with the product’s great depth of features and flexibility for members.
“In the current environment, it is important for super funds to be assessed by industry bodies and to be recognised with the top awards when they are focussed on delivering value for members. This is a priority for WA Super. My WA Super was found to have excellent options for our members at their various stages of life, plus fantastic historical return history and is easy for our members to understand,” Mr Ross said.
“My WA Super is a ‘diversified’ option ready-made for members and spreads investments across different assets, which helps members ride out the ups and downs of investing.
“Overall our My WA Super product was considered excellent value with low administration and investment costs. We were also awarded the five-star quality rating for our superannuation products.”

The annual Heron rating awards provide an independent representation of superannuation product strength and weaknesses and are based on specific benchmarks that guide assessors to rate product features objectively.
WA Super is a Western Australian based industry style super fund with a sound track record of more than 35 years, representing over 60,000 West Australians.
Mr Ross said WA Super is passionate about changing the superannuation narrative. “We believe it is important to encourage people to stop waiting until they retire to think about retirement; better yet, start early, keep it simple, and ask more questions.
