WA Super News
CEO welcome to Employers
It’s nearly the end of the financial year and what a year it has been. As we draw closer we want to encourage all employers to prepare for the end of the financial year (EOFY) so you meet your super obligations. You can read about important EOFY processing dates and times here as well as communications we will be sending to our WA Super members.
I would like to warmly welcome all the employers and members who were formerly with Concept One. Moving to a new super fund is never a straight-forward process, but I hope we have made it as seamless as possible for you and your employees. On top of this, many employers have had to switch clearing houses to SuperChoice so I would like to thank you for your patience. For those of you who’ve made the switch, I hope you are already enjoying the benefits.
If you’re an employer and haven’t been contacted by us about the switch to SuperChoice, we’ll be in touch over the next few weeks to discuss the transition process and benefits for you in making the change. You can read more about that here.
The recent Royal Commission and media headlines have certainly put banks, advisors, insurance companies and superfunds in the spotlight. Like most people, we have been watching not only with keen interest but disappointment with some of the events unfolding. While we have had very few enquiries from members, I want to reassure our Employers that we are a member focused super fund that always operates in the best interests of our members and employers. We invest for sustainable yet reasonable returns in times of strong market growth, and minimise losses while markets are more volatile. And we are here for the long term to help our members achieve their retirement dreams.
Lastly, as you may have already seen the Federal Government announced their 2018/19 Budget updates with some proposed future changes for super and retirement. You can read a summary of these changes here.
WA Super remains committed to supporting employers to make superannuation as simple as possible. We are the super experts and we are here to help you.
