Welcome to the Autumn edition of SuperNews for 2018.

I hope you all had a fantastic Easter break with your family and friends.

As we get nearer to the end of the financial year, it’s a great time to do a super health check. Some questions to ask yourself:

  • Do you know how much you need for retirement?
  • Are you in the right investment option?
  • Are you adequately insured? Or are you over insured?
  • Are you taking advantage of the tax concessions to maximise your super balance?

Have a read of our Autumn newsletter edition for ideas on how to get the most out of your super.

As highlighted in the ABC’s Four Corners the other week, many Australians are not being paid the super they are entitled to. To ensure this isn’t happening to you, it is really important to check your pay slips and ensure your employer is paying your super guarantee contributions. If you don’t have access to your old pay slips, you can head to Member Online to check your contribution history. If you believe you have been underpaid, contact your employer first, and if you cannot get a resolution then contact the Australian Taxation Office.

We are currently working on making some changes to our Member Online portal that will be rolled out over the next few months. These changes aim to make it easier for you to view and make changes to your super online both from your computer and smartphone. More information on these changes will be available shortly.

A special welcome to our new members from Concept One. The scale and efficiencies this merger brings will benefit both old and new WA Super members. By now you should have received your welcome pack with all the information you need to start your journey to retirement with WA Super. If you have not yet received your welcome pack, this may be because your address is not up to date. To update your address head to www.wasuper.com.au/updatedetails.

As always, please take your time to read through the attached articles and if you have topics or questions you would like covered in future SuperNews then email us at newsletters@wasuper.com.au
