Executive Team

The executive team take care of the day to day operations of WA Super. 

Fabian Ross
Chief Executive Officer

Commencement: 8 February 2017

Experience: Fabian has had more than 20 years’ experience in the financial services sector, including Acting Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Wealth Management at GESB, Director and board member of GESB Wealth Management Pty Ltd.

Previously Fabian was the National Head of Wealth Management for HBOS Australia (St Andrews Australia) and has held a variety of positions with the Commonwealth Bank Australia, across retail, corporate /commercial and private divisions.

Most recently Fabian has held numerous senior positions across BT Financial Group (BTFG).

Paul Owen
Chief Operating Officer 

Commencement: 20 April 2018 (Previously General Manager – Client Services since March 2016)

Experience: Paul joined WA Super in March 2006 following a successful career in senior roles within Local Government. In addition to his role as WA Super’s Chief Operating Officer, Paul is also responsible for managing the Service Delivery, Product & Marketing and Technology & Support (IT) teams.


Paul holds an MBA from Murdoch University and a Certificate IV Business Excellence & Organisational Self-Assessment, is a Member of the Fund Executives Association Ltd and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Lee Watson
Chief Financial Officer

Commencement: 21 April 2017

Experience: Lee was appointed to the CFO role in April 2017 and has worked in the financial services industry for over 25 years and has significant experience across the superannuation industry, investment industry and WA State Government.  Lee is responsible for managing People & Culture, Project Management Office, Finance and the Management Accounting functions.


Lee graduated from the University of Exeter with a Masters in Leadership and Change, is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants and of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. 

Alison Seinor
Chief Risk Officer

Commencement: 1 November 2016 (Previously Risk Manager since April 2007)

Experience: Alison has worked in the financial services industry for more than 25 years with various roles in the areas of superannuation and financial planning. 

Alison is responsible for managing the Risk and Compliance team.  


Alison holds a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) from Curtin University and an Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning.  

Chris West
Chief Investment Officer

Commencement: 28 August 2019 (Previously General Manager Investments since April 2017)

Experience: Chris has institutional investment experience covering portfolio construction, risk management, operations and policy development.  

Chris joined WA Super in August 2013 and is responsible for providing reporting and recommendations to the Investment Committee on a broad range of investment matters including policies, portfolio construction and investment risk management along with day-to-day monitoring and management of investment related service providers.    


Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Finance from the Australian National University and is a Certified Investment Management Analyst ® professional. 

Quyen Truong
Chief Member Experience Officer

Commencement: 28 August 2019 (Previously General Manager Advice & Distribution since April 2018)

Experience: Quyen joined WA Super on 12 June 2017 and is highly qualified with extensive National experience. For over 7 years, she has worked in distribution and business development roles for other financial service industries such as Colonial First State, ANZ & ING where she was responsible for both the Western Australian and South Australian market. Quyen is responsible for Business Support, Advice, Distribution and Member Services teams.


Quyen holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Accounting and Corporate Finance from the University of Western Australia and a graduate diploma of Financial Planning from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA) and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Quyen is on the Women in Super committee and a senior member of Financial Executive Women (FEW) where she is involved in their mentor programs.
